Weddings

This past weekend I went to a wedding where my sister was the maid of honor. The bride was her best friend. There were a couple things of note.

1. This was the first wedding that i have been to that I have not sat at the same table as my parents.

2. Seating was arranged very interestingly. K. (The bride) had placed me next to one of her former colleagues, a latin teacher at a boarding school. I really don't think this was a coincidence. We talked briefly (read post glass of champagne) about our respective projects, and about teaching latin. I know, completely appropriate conversation for a wedding!

3. My sister had to make a toast. It was lovely.
