Fire-people!

We had a deck chair cushion stuck in a tree by our house. Repeated calls to 311 by at least 5 families on the block achieved no results.

My parents decided to go down to the fire station and ask if there was anything they could do.

They came, decked out in their fire suits (I guess in case there was a real emergency, and extracted the cushion).

They came, and extended their awesome ladder:

Then they tried knocking it out of the tree with the ladder.

When that failed, they sent someone up the ladder.

He knocked it out of the tree.
On to a lower branch

Success!

The neighbors asked if they should make a donation, and what the fire-people actually want, is for people to call the mayor and ask him to keep the firehouses open, since they are in grave danger of being shut down. Help our helpful fire people! Call the mayor.

But if the mayor shuts down all the fire houses, what will people do if there's a fire?
